July 29, 2006. Cumming, Georgia Cumming Georgia April 1, 2006 Anniversary and the Jester’s, Elletson and Poston Take the Honors! On one of the most celebrated days in American culture, ( SoB’s Anniversary day as denoted by the calendar) the leading candidate for Betty Ford Man of the year Butch Elletson captured the top spot on the leader board with a even par seventy two. The candidate played very well and even birdied a hole in lapping the field by three shots for his first Tour victory in 2006. The hottest man on Tour showed the skill it takes to win the Tour Championship by staying in Milligan’s Pub and buying the Commissioner’s a round of brew. This play today moved Elletson to second place on the leader board behind Corky Mullins a carrer best start. This win today also marked the completion of the hat trick with a win, place and show finish in the first five events of 2006. Now it bears the question, This Win or will he be gone with the Wind for the balance of the year with his best start ever? Lost and Found Stephen Poston made is debut on the 2006 SoB’s Tour today and scored money. The seldom seen Brit surprised everyone with his second place finish, as he was not expected until Fathers day on Tour under his annual house pass granted by the Chairwoman of British Embassy in Fulton County. The registration for today’s event was also memorable as it marked the first time ever that Stephen has played without a Blackard or Idecker to chauffer the regent of Liverpool to the course at old Polo. This shocking development has only two connected solutions that work with as to why now. First... Caller ID has hit Fulton County and Poston had his daughter from Auburn drive him north to the course. Tour Notes: Tour Leader Corky Mullins has found his game in the last two weeks as he has posted net 88 and net 87 after the hot start with two first places and one second in the three season starting events. Tour Champ Steve Upchurch is missing in action and has nothing other than a $10.00 close up for his worst start ever. Next Up, The Bastard’s the SoB’s First Major in 2006!
Cumming Georgia March 25, 2006 The T’s Have it! Tommy, Tom, & Travis Tommy Miller showed little skill but used his length to beat the field today on the SoB’s Tour 2006. Posting a lack luster net score of two over par the “On the Wagon” Miller stepped forth in the chase to the Champions Cup 2006 for his first victory. Nothing exciting about the win for Miller as he remained in the cart most of the day and suffered no injuries to himself or his equipment. Much to the horror of the drink cart girl, Miller showed the ability that has allowed him to finish in the top five of the money winners in the last two seasons. This report asked him if he thought he could catch the SoB’s leader Corky Mullins in 2006. Miller responded “No, my liver could not take the abuse in such a short time period to drink as many beers as Corky has over the years.” In a second attempt to get a response from Miller this question was posed. Are you focused upon the leader position in the 2006 SoB’s Tour? Once again Miller replied, “ No… I will not wear blue corduroys.” Tom Antle the “Mayor of Polo Fields” signed and recorded a score of seventy five in a playing time of four hours and twenty nine minutes. This is a personal best for his Honor, and beats his previous times to Krogers in a Cadillac as well. It also was noted he had two holes open in front of the Tours fastest group when he took off his shoes and closed his bar tab. We believe this was done to keep from buying anyone a drink. Travis Upchurch the second generation of the Clan Upchurch to join the Tour finished in the money for his first time ever. The latest to loose his virginity on the SoB’s 2006 Tour posted a five over net seventy seven with one birdie. The highlight of the day for the young Upchurch was the use of the lip wedge on the Tour leader Mullins who posted a net 88. Tour Notes: The Richards Brothers have yet to break 82, yes that is all seven of them.
Alpharetta Georgia, White Columns Golf Course March 11, 2006
Tie Me, Split Me, and Catch Me if you can, Pot Bust in Alpharetta!
Corky Mullins and Rick Skelly post the first two rounds under par for the 2006 Tour year at White Columns Country Club today and shared the first place position. On the birthplace of all of Polo Golf and Country Clubs equipment and silverware the fine pair both scored two under net 70. Playing in near chamber of commerce conditions these fellows paced the rest of the Sob Tour by a strong three strokes. Due to the lack of daylight after the five hour round no media time was allowed to this Tour event at White Columns. Seems the dawn to daylight curfew for SoB’s imposed by the Columns forced the two leaders to vacate the property with the same speed as prunes through our roster of Sob Tour players. On this day of kissing your sister three players divided up the third place money with above par performances of net 73. These fine Sob’s that split the total of $39.00 were noted as Mr. Steve Sumner, Mr. John Olson, and Mr. Butch Elletson. These scores proved that the first two weeks of play on the Sob Tour were not flukes as they played poorly and still won money. This is not uncommon for Olson and Elletson, but is out of character for Sumner who usually can sand bag it better than above par. After all Sumner did have two birdies and a closest to the pin in busting the above par barrier. Three weeks into the 2006 SoB Tour season we have a dominating leader on the Tour. Corky Mullins has taking control of the Tour leader board and run away from the field like a cat from a Korean short order cook. Mullins chasing his first Tour Championship has a firm grip on first place and can wrap it up by mid summer if he continues to play as he has in the past three events. This outstanding golf play and not to hearing the voices of the Tour place the “Sage of Statement” in the driver’s seat. Will our Yogi Berra of the Tour prevail? Stay with us fans for the next twenty seven events and see. Tour Notes: Computer wizard cannot operate GPS, or his memory in route to a location he has visited over a dozen times…. Mullins you say! The 2005 Tour Champion Steve Upchurch posted an eleven on a par five to explode into flames for the third week in a row. Five hours and fifteen minutes to play in the year’s slowest round with the fastest group, wonder how that happened?
Cumming Georgia March 4, 2006
EPA investigates SOB Tour for Foul Play! Polo stinks for different Reason. Idecker is Top of the heap of rotten Bodies! Film @ 11:00 Bart Idecker young minion to Chris “the shirt” Idecker and a member of the famous Fulton county gang took advantage of his age and posted a sorry score to win on the SoB Tour 2006 on this day. Chased by a field of old men playing badly the “junior” Idecker had only one birdie and nothing else impressive to post. No post victory interview was given as the slack in the home chain tighten at the end of the day and Bart was pull southward toward the laird in Fulton. Do not expect to see his name remain on the top of the Tour leader board as his personal manager was trained by Mrs. Stephen Poston, thus effectively putting him on a limited Tour schedule this year. Corky Mullins took home second place this week following last weeks victory with an even less impressive score of 77. Supported by one birdie and a closest to the pin the master of misstatement played poorly. In the locker room after the round Corky stated “he has not been this hot since Sharon reversed her decision in 1983 to move home to mothers.” Often seen with Brides but mostly maids the Tour 2006 bridesmaid Butch Elletson captures the third position with a strong net 78. This score needs no congratulations as with his handicap this would indicate he shot a gross score close to the weight numbers on Tanya Harding. Tour Notes: 71% of this weeks players shot net 80 or better….. a Tour RECORD! Richards won $20.00 and shot 110 gross.
February 25, 2006 Cumming, Georgia SoB’s open the Hard way, Mullins Shows Experience &Toughness! Opening day brought out a tough crowd in tough weather for the 12th season of SoB golf Tour. As the day was, so was the play of one of the tours toughest competitors Corky Mullins. Corky shot a net one over par and took home the victory. Playing well enough to post one birdie and one closest to the pin Mullins demonstrated that cold, wet and windy conditions are something he strives in at the Polo Fields both day and night. Some observers to the match today commented that the cold and dismal weather impacts other players more than Mullins as he cannot turn his head or shoulders anyway regardless of the weather. Thus the field had a difficult time mocking Mullins set up and swing on this windy day. Second in the small field of eight was Butch Elletson with two over par 74. Nothing to report about this round of golf other than it proves thirty strokes of handicap in bad weather are much more predictable than say fifteen strokes in bad weather. Also it has been noted than since taken on the regal golf elixir last season that Elletson has played above expectations and been in the top three numerous times.
Notable events: Tommy Miller jumped off the wagon and had his St. Paddy’s Day early! John Olson broke his daylight intoxication speed record with an amazing pace of six holes. |
